Facilities Update · May 2026
Bear Cave Expansion
The single biggest facility investment we can make for Cambridge Football — and we’re ready to build.
Where We Stand
A Strong Start — and a Big Vision
The Bear Cave already received significant early improvements — lighting was installed, pad racks were added, new whiteboards went up, and the iconic Bear Cave signage was put in place. That foundation set the stage for what comes next.
Cambridge High School opened in 2012, well after rivals like Milton (1921) and Roswell (1950) — both of which have self-funded field houses. Less than 15% of 4A–7A schools in Georgia still lack a field house. Cambridge is one of them. The Bear Cave expansion is our commitment to closing that gap.

What We’re Building
Quotes have been obtained. The foundation work is ready to move forward immediately once funding is secured.
Cinderblock construction providing dedicated access points for players and staff on both sides of the facility.
A dedicated visitors section on the opposite side of the facility — the standard for any competitive 5A program.
A structural interior divider that creates separate functional zones within the facility for film, meetings, and preparation.

Why It Matters
More Than a Building
A proper field house isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about recruiting, retention, and giving players the environment they need to develop as athletes and young men. Competing programs like Carrollton, Buford, and Gainesville have benefited from city and county-funded facility upgrades totaling tens of millions of dollars.
Cambridge won’t wait for county funding. The Bear Gridiron Club and our community are taking this on together — just like we always have.
